Ozone water for retail and stores
This guide shows how to use ozone water on the shop floor with clear, repeatable steps. An ozone water machine produces ozone water on site for surface cleaning; it is not intended for consumption or medical applications.
Why use ozone water in retail?
Retail teams handle many recurring tasks: organising baskets, clearing counters, refreshing payment terminals and preparing trolleys. Ozone water supports these routines by offering one source of cleaning water for many closed surfaces, so staff can walk their round without switching between multiple products.
On the page What is ozone water? you find a broader explanation of how ozone water is produced and how it fits into cleaning processes. For an overview of machines, see Ozone water machine.
Key touchpoints in stores
In retail environments ozone water can be used on various closed surfaces:
- Checkout counters and service desks
- Baskets, carts and child seats
- Payment terminals, self-checkout areas and scanners
- Fridge handles, door grips and elevator buttons
- Displays, promo islands and information stands

Two-cloth method on the shop floor
The core workflow remains the same across locations. Spray onto the cloth for controlled application, or directly onto closed surfaces such as counters or displays. Follow the two-cloth method: 1) Apply a light mist on the surface. 2) Wipe in overlapping strokes with cloth A. 3) Dry immediately with cloth B for a streak-free result. Work from cleaner to less clean areas: checkout counters first, then baskets and trolleys, then edges and low-priority zones.

Building daily retail routines
Link ozone water to fixed cleaning rounds that are easy to follow:
✔️ Opening round: prepare counters, self-checkout areas, baskets and carts
✔️ Mid-shift round: refresh checkouts, payment terminals and busy touchpoints
✔️ Closing round: finish displays, handles, doors and edges
Using ozone water is cost-efficient and makes routines easy to transfer: new employees learn one pattern that can be reused in every branch. If you would like to discuss how this fits your stores, feel free to get in touch via Contact.
Costs and affordability
With ozone water you produce cleaning water on site for roughly €0.0017 per litre, which is a fraction of a eurocent per litre and around one cent per full bucket. This replaces a large part of traditional bottles and reduces storage pressure in stockrooms.
✔️ No complex logistics for multiple bottled products
✔️ Less plastic packaging and fewer single-use containers
✔️ Surface cleaning without storing many chemicals
✔️ Simple routines that can be rolled out across locations
After about 1000 operating hours or roughly 500,000 litres the ozone water machine needs maintenance, with average component costs that can be planned and spread over time.
